After the recent FOX debate between GOP candidates, Hannity and Colmes wrote off Ron Paul’s success in their poll as a few of his supporters hitting redial. Have you attempted to do this? If so, what was the result?
If you haven’t done this yourself, can you find any information on its feasibility? Could someone actually influence the FOX News poll by redialing their vote?
Anybody care to check this out?
Any comments?
G-Man:
On what polls have you done it? You had the context of my question, so I have to understand your response as implying that Ron Paul supporters could have redialed their votes and so gamed the poll. After watching the youtube clip, do you have anything else to say?
Elway_the_Cat:
Decent answer – best so far, actually. I appreciate your "fair and balanced" skeptism. Your doubt regarding YouTube had occured to me. This is why I sincerely would like to know if anyone attempted it with the FOX poll.
Regarding your question, I have already answered the question as you officially posed it here on Answers. But in brief, it’s more important to me that more people (even if only a few) are influenced to value the concept of limited government because of his candidacy. I personally believe that Ron Paul has a shot to win the presidency though I recognize the great obstacles.
In any case, unless you personally know of a plot to steal the election even if he has enough votes, your statement that he has "no chance" is simply not accurate. Other than that, I appreciate your line of questioning.

Yes, successfully, but it wasn’t for the debate. As I trust neither FOX News nor video from You Tube, neither one makes a dent as far as proof goes. I think people assume that Paul supporters must have been repeatedly resending because there is such a gap between the percentage of support shown from the debate poll and his continued extremely tepid percentage of support in national polls. It occurs to me that no matter which is true and most accurate, that Paul will never receive the nomination for the Republicans. Paul supporters must realize this is true. I would think that knowing that is reality, they would be mounting an effort to have him run Independently if they think they have enough votes to make a difference.
You must be a Paul supporter, and I would like to ask you what you think about this. Surely you know the Republicans will never nominate him. Are you and his other supporters prodding him to run Independently so your voices will be heard? I’m honestly curious about this. I know you all really believe in him, and if you do, do you all realize that he must pursue a different avenue than the Republican nomination to have a chance at all?
EDIT: LOL No, no, I know of no plot. I say that simply because a current look at the entire field on a national level does not show enough support for him to reasonably expect that he has "a chance" at this time. That could change, of course anything is possible. Actually this question prompted me to ask the question I did, and that you indeed took the time to answer, thank you.

No. Text message polls are meaningless since they are so prone to flooding by zealots. I suspect major new organizations will be abandoning them soon.
Yes, they don’t care. And they don’t check the number it came from. I’ve done it many times. It is quite easy.
I have not ever sent a text message on my cell phone.
Ron Paul is not a pacifist.
At the time of the September 11, 2001 attacks, Paul, defining them as an act of "air piracy", introduced the Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001, which would have granted Letters of Marque and Reprisal, as authorized by Article One, Section Eight, against the specific terrorists, instead of warring against a foreign state.[17] He has also reproposed this legislation recently under the new title of Marque and Reprisal Act of 2007.

Sportsbook.com rates both Paul and Romney at 8 to 1 odds which is approximately an 11 percent chance of becoming the next President.
Mitt Romney’s campaign only had 35 percent more cash than Ron Paul after subtracting debts on 06/30/2007.

Ron Paul’s $2.4 million in fundraising after the second quarter placed him:
4th in total receipts to date
3rd in total current assets (ahead of former front-runner John McCain, and just $800,000 behind Mitt Romney)
Ron Paul has more friends in MySpace and more subscribers in YouTube than any other Republican.
As of September 4, Ron Paul has won 9 of 23 straw polls.

Thus far, 47% of the contributions made to Ron Paul’s campaign are donations of under $200 from individuals (John McCain’s 17% is the second-highest percentage).

This is a telling statistic, as it highlights the fact that most other candidates rely heavily upon donations from corporate interests and political action committees (PACs) (i.e. moneyed, influence-seeking sources who can readily afford to contribute large sums). Since Congressman Paul has always voted against special favors and privileges for anyone, special interests know they have nothing to gain by stuffing Ron Paul’s campaign coffers. As one member of my local Meetup group put it on a home-made sign, "Ron Paul is thin because he won’t let special interests buy him lunch."
